International Conference of NGOs 2024
The International Conference of NGOs is mandated by UNESCO’s Directives concerning partnership with Non-Governmental Organizations, and is held in December every two years. It provides a crucial opportunity for NGOs to discuss collective priorities for action, and to elect a new NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee.
Recommendations of the International Conference 2024
The Recommendations presented here are the collective input of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO and reflect requests, calls to action, and the priorities of NGOs as expressed to the International Conference of NGOs. These are published for action by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, NGOs themselves, and provided to UNESCO to highlight action points. The final draft was adopted by unanimous consensus at the final session of the International Conference of NGOs in Official Partnership with UNESCO on 19 December 2024.

NGO Recommendations on 43/C5
The Directives concerning UNESCO’s partnership with non-governmental organizations outline the possibility and responsibility for NGOs in official partnership to provide their input and feedback to the Director-General of UNESCO on the organisation’s draft Programme and Budget (43/C5). In 2024, the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee organised four rounds of consultation and collective drafting on a contribution to the draft 43/C5, which was adopted by unanimous consensus at the final session of the International Conference of NGOs in Official Partnership with UNESCO on 19 December 2024.
