International Forum of NGOs

Background

NGO Forums are organized by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, with the support and participation of the Secretariat, in accordance with the Directives concerning UNESCO’s partnership with NGOs (36 C/Res. 108). The involvement of the Programme Sectors and relevant Programme Specialists, alongside the Liaison Committee and the NGOs, is essential, particularly in the definition of themes and the development of the programme.  Each Forum has a specific theme guided by  the input of the NGOs gathered at the International Conference of NGOs in Official Partnership with UNESCO

"Achieving Global Citizenship" - 12th International Forum

  

21 invited speakers participated, from the following 18 countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Côte d’Ivoire, France, India, Italy, Lebanon, Madagascar, Poland, Republic of Korea, St Kitts and Nevis, South Sudan, United Kingdom, and the United States of America. 


We were pleased to welcome representatives of the following 14 Permanent Delegations and National Commissions, who took part in the Forum: Azerbaijan, British Virgin Islands, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Italy, Oman, Paraguay, Portugal, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, and the United Arab Emirates.


More than 380 people registered for the Forum, and confirmed attendees participated from the following 47 countries: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, British Virgin Islands, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Palestine, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation,  Rwanda, Saudia Arabia, Senegal, South Africa, South Sudan, St Kitts and Nevis, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
