18th International Forum of NGOs: Greening Education

The 18th International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO is titled “Greening Education Partnership: NGOs Engaged for Sustainable Impact”

Organized by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee in cooperation with UNESCO in accordance with the Directives concerning UNESCO’s partnership with non-governmental organizations, this Forum is primarily intended for NGOs in official partnership with the Organization as well as NGOs engaged in the Greening Education Partnership, and is open to other interested parties among international, regional and national NGOs, institutions, academic and scientific communities, youth and student representatives, and Member States.

Building a Sustainable Future Together

The Forum is a dedicated space for dialogue, collective learning, and technical upskilling among NGOs. As the Greening Education Partnership (GEP) continues to grow — now including 97 countries and over 1,900 stakeholders — the role of civil society in bridging global policy with local action has never been more critical.

Programme Highlights

Over two sessions, we will dive into the four essential pillars of the GEP:

• Pillar 1: Greening Schools – Exploring whole-institution approaches and green school quality standards.
• Pillar 2: Greening Curriculum – Integrating climate change into national curricula.
• Pillar 3: Greening Teacher Training – Strengthening the capacities of educators and systems.
• Pillar 4: Greening Communities – Promoting lifelong learning for climate resilience.
